We are happy to report that 2017 saw an increase in construction activities and a record amount of bidding in our estimating department. We are hoping that 2018 will continue this upwards trend.

2017 was also another great year from all of our employees regarding safety. It is our number one priority and will be again in 2018. PLEASE WORK SAFE!

THOMAS will be focusing most of our energy to begin 2018 on the completion of the Suncor Fort Hills Secondary Extraction Project and the completion of the Blackgold Project for Harvest Energy. In addition, we will be performing a pipeline project in northern Saskatchewan for Husky Energy.

In the attempt to increase our workload, THOMAS will continue to search for electrical and fireproofing work wherever opportunities arise. The electrical division successfully performed a major project this past year which should give us a strong electrical base going forward. In addition, adding a Saskatchewan branch office is still high on our priority list.

The collapse of oil prices in 2015 & 2016 had a direct negative effect on construction activities throughout Western Canada, however with the current price at or near $60/barrel, we are seeing positive signs throughout the industry. We are awaiting news from Imperial Oil on their plans to go ahead with construction of their Aspen Project near Fort McMurray along with other numerous projects that oil companies may be starting up.

In addition to the work in the oil sector, Inter-pipeline is going ahead with a $4.0 billion dollar chemical facility near Redwater, Alberta. This project will take up to 3 years to complete and will have both modular and site components.

Thankfully 2018 looks like another year of positive rebound in the construction industry.

THOMAS would like to thank everyone for thier efforts, hard work and dedication. Due to their commitment, THOMAS continues to be a leader in the construction industry.

Please work safe and together we will make 2018 a success for everyone!

Let’s hope so.

After struggling throughout 2015 & 2016 it seems that 2017 will finally shed some new light on the construction industry.

Oil prices are holding steady which in turn should spur on some new activities in the industry.

Petrochemical projects are being contemplated and hopefully our federal government will come to their senses and approve a pipeline.

At the THOMAS Group of Companies, 2017 looks terrific. With the commitment and hard work from our estimating department, THOMAS Insulation has

secured major contracts with Suncor, Encana, Pembina, NWR and Cenovus. These projects, along with numerous other jobs should position us well for 2017.

During the difficult last 2 years, our company has shown the ability to adapt to the conditions of the market.

Going forward I have no doubt about our company’s ability to secure and maintain work for our entire workforce.

I would like to thank each and every one of you for the dedication you have shown to the THOMAS Group of Companies during these difficult times.

We have turned a corner and brighter days are ahead.

Stay Safe.

I am pleased to announce that THOMAS Insulation Inc. has started an Electrical & Instrumentation division with the hiring of Mr. Stephen Quinn.

Stephen brings many years of experience in the electrical & instrumentation trade and his knowledge will be a real benefit to our company.

This company will operate under the name of “THOMAS Electrical & Instrumentation” and will be a division of THOMAS Insulation Inc.

It is our belief that by diversifying into other disciplines such as electrical & instrumentation, we will be better suited to handle the downturn

in the economy that all companies are now experiencing. It is our intention to train our current workers, (whomever are interested),

new disciplines such as installing electric heat tracing. As we have seen with our insulators that now install steam & glycol tubing,

this multi-tasking has been a benefit to both the worker & the company.

Although this announcement pertains to the startup of our electrical & instrumentation division, please stay tuned for further announcements

on other discipline additions to our company.

It is my commitment to all of you that THOMAS Insulation Inc. will pursue all possible avenues that will allow us to weather this economic downturn.

Thank you & please work safe!

THOMAS Insulation Inc.

Due to the low oil prices there has been a definite turn down in the economy; however oil companies are still set to spend $24 billion on capital work in 2015.

The majority of this capital work will be focused around the major companies such as Suncor, CNRL and Shell.

To date THOMAS Insulation Inc. is well positioned for a steady volume of work in 2015.

We have experienced a substantial increase of work in the last month or so and more coming to us in the next couple of months that should carry us through to the end of the year.
